“I am 11 years old and I have been a student of Miranda for 3 years. She has been an amazing teacher for me because she is very kind, and patient, and helps me break the music down into pieces that are easy to learn. Along with assigning lessons, Miranda lets me choose what I want to play. Even if the songs I choose are above my level, her teaching methods help me push through. She challenges me without pressure and emphasizes that playing piano should be enjoyable. Practicing is not always easy, but whenever I've learned a piece well, I am very happy and sometimes surprised with what I have been able to play. Miranda corrects my posture, and finger positioning, and assigns exercises that improve my technique. She is always very supportive and encouraging. I am so lucky to have found Miranda as my piano teacher.”

“I have been playing piano going on ten years now and have taken lessons from a few different teachers, but none of them have been able to help me progress and learn to love music as much as Miranda has. She is so good at making sure that you understand everything you are learning, from the basics to the most complicated pieces. Her ear is amazing, and she has helped me to adjust pieces and write my own songs. Because of her, I have learned to enjoy learning classical but I also learned to play Heart Shaped Box! Her teaching fits such a wide variety of people, but is also so personal and joyful.”

“Our ten-year-old daughter, Sylvia, has been learning piano from Miranda for the last 18 months. We couldn’t be happier with her as an instructor and mentor. We wanted piano to be fun and Miranda allows her to choose her own songs to work on in addition to learning scales and theory. Sylvia adores Miranda and is always in a good mood after piano practice, even if she was in a bad mood going in. She loves the soundtracks by Danny Elfman and was so excited to find that Miranda does, too! We also enjoy how the schedule is split into semesters because it gives Sylvia a time to take a break if she wants. I don’t think we could have found a better piano teacher for our daughter!”

“Our older daughter has been working with Miranda for 8 years and our younger daughter has been with her for 5. She is patient, warm, and kind and brings a love and joy to music. She is always very thoughtful and present and keeps her lessons feeling fresh and exciting. Our kids always finish their lessons happy and inspired about their progress. Instead of forcing a curriculum, she allows them to choose the songs they play and guides them towards what resonates for them. 8 years after our first lesson, both our daughters are enthusiastic to keep playing. Many of our friends' kids have quit piano over the years, we are pretty sure ours would have too if it wasn't for Miranda. Instead, I am listening to my 11-year-old nail Bohemian Rhapsody while I write this testimonial. We have recommended her to multiple families over the years and have had glowing reviews from all of them. We feel so lucky to have found her!”

“I love to come to Miranda for lessons, she is talented and gifted! As a working businesswoman, I don’t have much time to practice piano, but her technique helps me get through all obstacles. And now, after just half a year, I am able to play Prelude in C Major by J.S. Bach. I love this studio and am impressed by its professional setup. I am glad that I found Miranda, and really appreciate her patience and understanding.”

“I started taking piano lessons again at 50 after having given up in my youth to an uninspiring piano teacher. I always regretted it and the little I had learned as a kid was gone. So when I decided to start piano again it was essential to me to find a teacher who could inspire me! Miranda was the right choice! She was able to inspire a real passion for piano and I look forward to our weekly lessons. The progress in my piano skills has been tremendous. Her teaching style is encouraging, patient and focused - she was able to tailor lessons to fit my interests - Progress has been amazing: after 2 years, I can play pieces from Chopin and Shumman and own the technical skills to progress further!”

“I started learning to play piano with Miranda at age 32, having never played an instrument before. My goal was to learn to play songs that get stuck in my head. I feel lucky to have found a teacher like Miranda as she does not insist on a particular curriculum. She has such breadth of knowledge and skill that she is able to adapt her lessons to make the process of learning exciting to me. Every time I ask her a question, I am surprised by the thoughtfulness of her answer. She is patient, encouraging, and full of infectious enthusiasm. I always look forward to my lessons with her.”

“Piano lessons with Miranda have completely changed the way I think about and engage with music. I began my studies with Miranda knowing nothing about music theory let alone how to play an instrument. Within a few short weeks, a whole new world of music appreciation, comprehension, and knowledge was unlocked. Miranda effortlessly weaves music theory and piano playing fundamentals with modern songs that I know and love; she does not let history or tradition hold me back from exploring the works of an artist that I’ve long enjoyed. I can’t imagine taking lessons from anyone else and I am so fortunate to have a passionate, knowledgeable, and inspiring teacher like Miranda. She is the absolute best.”

“Miranda is a real inspiration in all endeavors musical. About 3 years ago, I returned to playing piano as an adult after a really long gap. She has been my guide in this journey back to music and has reconnected with music on many levels-- artistic, intellectual, and practical. She’s been great at helping me improve my physical approach to piano and introduced me to the Taubman technique. I’ve learned so much from her, and I can’t thank her enough. She’s truly a gifted teacher and a wonderful musician.”

“I started lessons with Miranda knowing barely enough piano to play Heart & Soul, but after two years of her excellent instruction, unique approach to applied music theory, and punk rock pragmatism, I now proudly call myself a musician. She brings so many of her great skills to each of our lessons, whether it's her amazing ear for dynamics and tonality, her eye for correct posture and technique, or her ability to build an engaging curriculum around my evolving musical interests. She's a patient and extremely supportive teacher, who also happens to be a totally awesome person who I look forward to catching up with every week! I really can't recommend her enough to anyone looking to learn piano.”

“I have been taking lessons with Miranda as an adult student for several years. It is such a great escape for me. She is willing to go in any direction in music style and work to my pace. I have a busy schedule so some weeks may challenge my practice schedule. Miranda never makes me feel guilty about that. It is up to me to set the pace. I especially enjoy when we dive deeply into theory. I had a year of that in college and always enjoyed a theory-oriented approach to learning a piece. She is an expert in this area and is able to break down any piece and make it very accessible for me. I can't recommend her highly enough.”

“Miranda is a wonderful teacher and a beautiful human. What makes her exceptional is her ability to adapt to the learning styles of each individual student. Not only does she accommodate my pace, but she is also kind and encouraging whenever I feel I have hit a wall with music. She has multiple pathways up her sleeve to get you where you want to go with your musical journey. Her teaching is flexible and understanding, especially with some of the more difficult aspects of music (cough *rhythm* cough) and she is honest and kind when addressing roadblocks wherever they may be. She has a wealth of knowledge and it is a weekly privilege to be able to pick her brain about any music genre, theory, technique and so much more. I have learned more about music from her than any other music teacher in my childhood. Anyone is fortunate to have the opportunity to study under her and her passion is infectious!”

“Miranda is an instrumental part of my musical journey as I've been fortunate to have her instruction over the past 10 years. Under her instruction, I've enjoyed learning technique as well well as finding my favorite difficult pieces and learning to master them. I can't even begin to write all of the important things I've learned from Miranda over the years. Thank you for sharing all of your knowledge and inspiration with me. Piano is my passion and it always gets more fun and interesting each year. Thank you, Miranda!”
